For the first time ever Erik, Gaston Leroux's original Opera ghost is available as a plush toy in all his hideous glory. The protagonist of Gaston Leroux’s immortal classic The Phantom of the Opera is described as wearing a dinner jacket that hangs on a skeleton frame, having eyes set so deeply that one can hardly see the pupils... only two large black holes as in the skulls of the dead, pasty yellow skin stretched over his bones tight as a drumhead, a nose so insignificant that one cannot see it side-face and only three or four long dark locks of hair behind his ears. He had a heart capricious enough to contain the whole world, but he had to content himself with a cellar. Poor unhappy Erik! |
